The Premier of new play "A Day in the Life of Frankie Abbott", written and staring David Barry, reprising his role as Frankie Abbott (Plaese Sir!), and Linda Regan who playes Frankies carer, Marion. The play was performed at the Phoenix Artist Club on and was promoted and produced by Stuart Morriss of the Misty Moon Film Society


Linda Regan (born 5 November 1949) is a British author and actress, who has appeared in television and film. She is best known for her role as Yellowcoat April in the British holiday camp sitcom Hi-de-Hi!. She is married to the comedian and actor Brian Murphy. Regan has appeared on television in: The Knock (series 1), Minder, London's Burning, Framed, Lynda Calvey Story, Birds of a Feather, Z-Cars, Harry and Cosh (5 series for Channel 5), Holby City, The Bill and Doctors. She is also an author of several successful Crime Novels. David Barry (born 30 April 1943) is a Welsh actor. He is best known for his role as Frankie Abbott, (the gum-chewing mother's boy who was convinced he was extremely tough), in the LWT sitcom Please Sir! and the spin-off series The Fenn Street Gang, He also appeared in two TV spin-off movies - Please Sir! (1971) and George and Mildred (1980). His first broadcast script was written for The Fenn Street Gang and he wrote many episodes of Thames TV's Keep it in the Family. In 2016, Barry is reprising the role of Frankie Abbott in his own play A Day in the Lives of Frankie Abbott. Barry is also a novelist. His police thriller Each man kills, set in Swansea, was published in 2002, to be followed by Willie the Actor in 2008. His autobiography was entitled Flashback. He has also written a children's book, The Ice Cream Time Machine. He currently lives in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Please Sir! is a London Weekend Television situation comedy, created by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey and featuring actors John Alderton, Deryck Guyler, Joan Sanderson, Noel Howlett, Erik Chitty and Richard Davies. The series ran for 55 episodes between 1968 and 1972. The programme was set in the fictional Fenn Street School, and starred John Alderton as Bernard Hedges, a young teacher fresh out of training college. The supporting cast included Deryck Guyler, Joan Sanderson and Richard Davies.
