G/V Showing closed Villiage Bad Weather Hits America's Cup: The organisers of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Portsmouth have taken the regrettable decision to cancel this evening’s South Coast Proms Royal Marines Concert for public safety reasons. The organisers of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Portsmouth have taken the regrettable decision to cancel this evening’s South Coast Proms Royal Marines Concert for public safety reasons. The rain is due to lessen for the next couple of hours but is forecast to increase again around 8pm when the concert is due to start and then rain heavily for the remainder of the evening with a potential risk of thunderstorms. The organisers will refund all Friday evening ticket holders as well as offering them free tickets to to attend the Saturday evening Portsmouth Live concert. We apologise for any inconvenience to the general public planning to attend the concert tonight but we feel that, for public safety reasons and given that this is an open air uncovered site, this is the right decision to make. © uknip/ Alamy Live News
