PACIFIC OCEAN, Calif., – Marines with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Sailors aboard the USS San Diego (LPD-22) use rigid haul inflatable boats to conduct a vessel board search and seizure during PHIBRON-MEU Integration, April 7, 2017. VBSS missions are conducted on hostile vessels to capture high value individuals along with collect intelligence to aid future missions. The 15th MEU undergoes demanding unit-level certification in order to be proficient in rapidly mobilize people and equipment to make the amphibious forces postured to respond to any mission.
