View NE of Tregeseal East stone circle, Cornwall, England, UK, on the edge of open moorland below Carn Kenidjack outcrop. A 'flattened circle' some 22m (72ft) across reduced to 21m (69ft) at the N end. The circle was disturbed by quarrying in the mid 1800s & several stones were re-erected in 1932. There were probably 19 stones originally, a popular number in Cornish stone circles. Tregeseal West circle was wrecked by 1905 & cleared for ploughing in 1961. Cropmarks suggest there may have been another ring making an E-W alignment of three circles. The circle's alternative names suggest the stones are young women punished for dancing on the Sabbath.
