Provided the soil is in a proper slate, flower seeds may be sown in the open border in the months of April and May, or' as soon as the soil becomes dry and easily crumbled, after the spring frosts have disappeared. They may also be scrwn in prepared beds of light, rich soil, and transp 'anted into the garden. The form-1)- is tht more simple method, t>ul not alwivs as satisfactory. The belter plan is to iow all fine seeds tinder glass in a greenhouse, hot-beil, <nr in the house. As to the depth to which seeds should be covered, the best general rule is to cover fine seeds very lightly, just enough to protect them from the sun \ and in extremely dry weather a sprinkling of damp moss is very usefu'. With very fine seeds it is best to sow on the surface, and press then slightly into the soil. We are convinced that one of the most frequent causes of failure is in sowing the seeds too deep, and seedsmen are unjustly censured, when the fault lies with the cultivator. Our list has been carefully revised and all inferior varieties discarded. For the convenience of our customers and to facilitate the filling of orders, we use a system of numbering. In ordering it is only necessary to give the number of packets wanted and the corresponding number in the catalogue, viz.: 1 pkt. 5010, 15 cts.; 3 pkts. 5031, 15 cts., means one packet Abutilon, mixed, 15 cts.; 3 packets Adonis Flos, 15 cts.
