A macaw's red feathered head caught before bokeh lighting

Macaws have very long tails, very large beaks, and are often very colorful. Macaws are native to Mexico, Central America, South America, and formerly the Caribbean. Most species live in forests, especially rain forests, but others prefer woodland or savannah-like habitats.
