Its basal portion forms the anterior border of the hyper-triangle (h). The posterior cubitus (CuP) is a crooked vein. It extends fromthe base of the wing to a point beyond the arculus and then bendsabruptly posteriorly almost at a right angle, forming the common sideof the triangle (t) and the subtriangle (s). From the posterior apexof the triangle CuP extends to a point slightly beyond or basal to themiddle of the posterior margin of the fore and hind wings respec-tively. Lameere called this vein the posterior branch of cubitus (CuP),and in this has been generally followed by subsequent authors on NO. 6 MORPHOLOGY OF THE DRAGONFLY—CHAO 33 ^ Ax, arc A*2 p-fc.
