A German rapier, circa 1610/20. Narrow thrusting blade of flattened hexagonal section, the upper quarter has a lenticular cross-section. There is a mark stamped on one side of the ricasso. Iron bar guard hilt. The grip cover has the original iron wire winding and braided ferrules. Slightly tapered cylindrical shaped pommel.
