The Cobb at Lyme Regis harbour just before sunrise

The Cobb at Lyme Regis just before sunrise. Lyme Regis is well-known for "The Cobb", a sweeping wall which protects the harbour from the worst storms. It is an important feature in Jane Austen's novel Persuasion (1818), and in the film The French Lieutenant's Woman, based on the novel of the same name by local writer John Fowles.
