It appears likely from the following extract from a scheduleexhibited to the Bishop in August, 1622, that the firstorgan was then set up in Hackney Church. Mr. Thomas Roe gave this parish the some of ffyftiepoundes for the buildinge of an organ in or Churche, wchis already pformed. Nothing is said about this being in lieu of an organalready existing. The organ set up in 1665-6 may havebeen a new or larger instrument than Mr. Roes. The fol-lowing is not thought to be a complete list of organists. Thos.
