Looking down on Village Bay, Hirta in the Scottish St Kilda archipelago.

Hirta (or Hiort in Scottish Gaelic) is the largest island in the remote Scottish archipelago of St Kilda. The islands are the most westerly of the "Outer Hebrides" or Western Isles located 40 miles North West of North Uist St Kilda is one of only 24 global locations to be awarded 'mixed' World Heritage Status for its natural and cultural significance. This shot was taken on an uncharacteristically sunny day for the island and is of Village Bay, Hirta with Ruaival and Dun visible on the far side of the bay.
