The 1905 Hopi House, built to resemble a Hopi Tribe pueblo, at Grand Canyon National Park, which protects a steep-sided and winding gorge carved by the Colorado River across northern in Arizona. The canyon is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and in spots is more than a mile deep. One of several buildings in the park designed by renowned architect Mary Colter, the building originally served as an “Indian Arts Building,” a fancy name for a Fred Harvey Company souvenir shop.
