Feldspar in andesite. Sample of andesite (black) with large twinned crystals (phenocrysts) of feldspar (white) trapped within it. Andesite is an extrusive igneous (volcanic) rock. Feldspars are a very common group of silicate minerals that make up as much as 60% of the Earth's crust. They commonly occur as veins of crystals within extrusive igneous rocks such as andesite.
