In the wholesale market many roses are coming in daily, of all varieties and much improved in quality, especially Russell and Hadley. Ophelia is much improved in color and stem. These, when extra fancy, clean up well. Kil- larney, Ward and Richmond form the bulk of the rose stock. Carnations are becoming more abund- ant and their quality is much improved, but the bulk of them are short of stem. The fancies clean up at $2 per hun- dred. Enchantress, Ward and Beacon are in the majority. Violets are becom- ing more numerous and are showing better quality because of the cooler weather. They sell well. Smilax, asparagus and adiantum have good daily sales. Various Notes. There will be no flower show here this fall.
