Eleanor Davies addressing supporters from the the occupied Lewisham Bridge Primary School, during a failed attempt by bailiffs to repossess the school from the occupying rooftop protestors. Lewisham council plan to demolish this Victorian school and replace it with a new school for 3-16 year olds. Meaning that two new school, both upper and lower will be built on the same footprint as Lewisham Bridge now occupies. The Shool currently enjoys a large well designed play area which will be lost if the new schools are built. In addition it will be run by a private company called The Leathersellers' Company who already run two secondary school in Lewisham. The School is now Grade II-listed, and parents and teachers are fighting to preserve the school in its current form.
