Phil Fraley, US exhibition designer. Phil Fraley standing beneath a Tyrannosaurus rex (T-rex) skeleton. T-rex was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs, measuring 5 metres tall and weighing 7 tonnes. It lived in North America and Asia during the late Cretaceous period, between 85 and 65 million years ago. This skeleton was renovated and re-assembled by Fraley and his team at Phil Fraley Productions. The company specialises in renovating and re-building fossil skeletons for museum displays. To create an exhibit, the skeletons are taken apart and re-assembled onto a new metal support armature. The skeleton can then be posed in a more life-like posture. Photographed in 2007.
