Kennall Vale, a nature reserve managed by Cornwall Wildlife Trust, formerly an explosive manufacturing site now a scheduled monument

Kennall Vale is a nature reserve situated on an old site where Kennall Gunpowder Company used to manufacture explosive from1812-1910. The site is managed by Cornwall Wildlife Trust and designated a Cornish Mining World Heritage Site. The old gunpowder buildings/works etc are slowly being reclaimed by nature, the site is really tranquil now with the only sounds being generated by nature/wildlife. You can still see many of the old works with evidence of waterwheel leats etc still remaining
