Abandoned heavy engineering earth moving machinery at Threlkeld Mining Museum in the Northern Lake District not far from the Tourist town of Keswick. The abandoned mine cum quarry is a reminder that much of the Cumbrian Lake District owed much of its wealth from quarrying for its stone and mining for its metals of lead, copper, tungsten before heavy industry gave way to tourism, seen here with the narrow gauge railway at one of the quarries assembly yards.
