Paul Schutzenberger (1829-1897). 1897 illustration of the French chemist Paul Schutzenberger. Schutzenberger is known for his research on the constitution of alkaloids and the albuminoid bodies, and for the preparation of several new series of platinum compounds and hyposulphurous acid. His worked focused on industrial chemistry, as well as general and biological chemistry. In 1882 he became directing professor at the municipal Ecole de Physique et de Chimie, Paris, France.
