Armet (Early XVIth Century).—The skull is fluted, and hasa strong cabled crest. The visor is very skilfully forged in the form ofa human mask, with twisted moustaches, horizontal vision-slits taking theplace of eyes. Beneath this visor is a modern visor of thin metal. Thehelmet opens at the side, and has a bold cabled rim to fit over the gorget. Weight, 81b. 40Z. Purchased at the Bernal salein ARMET (IV, 29). ARMET (IV, :i:i). 30. Armet (Early XVIth Century), with roped crest and two-partvisor, the upper portion being pierced with horizontal vision-slits. Thereare two lames at the back which originally worked on sliding rivets but arenow fixed. The helmet is closed by a long plate hinged to the beavor andpassing over a turning-pin on the lower part of the skull-piece. Weight, 51b. 31. Armet (XVIth Century), with ridged crest, one-part bellowsvisor, and articulated lames at the back of the neck. The original liningof quilted yellow silk remains. Weight, 51b. 40Z. 32. Armet (XVIth Century), with roped crest. The visor hashorizontal vision-slits. There are two neck-plates in front and twobehind, with roped margins. Weight, 51b. 80Z. 33.
