The first and second spines of each side are very small; the third, which is between the second and third lobes, is the largest; the fourth and fifth are suc- cessively smaller. There are two conspicuous club-shaped organs which appear like thickenings of the body wall, but which are really within the body cephalad of the mesal lobes. These organs are about three times the length of the mesal lobes; they con- verge caudad, and the cephalic end of each is suddenly enlarged.
