St Peter’s Church, Holwell, Hertfordshire, was rebuilt in 1877-9, incorporating material from an earlier building. It is believed there have been four churches on this site since 968 when the Saxon King Edward granted a charter. St Peter’s has a nave, chancel, south aisle, vestry, and a bell tower built over a porch in the south west corner.
