One of the last coal fired twin-screw steam tugs in the world was saluted by the Royal Navy in London to mark its ninetieth birthday. The St Portwey, which was built on the Clyde in 1927, came under the command of the Royal navy during the second World War when she was based in Dartmouth. In 1944 the ship was involved in preparations for the D-Day was launched on 10 August 1927 and completed on 28 April 1928.
