Mesolite mineral. This tectosilicate mineral has the formula Mesolite crystallizes in the orthorhombic system and typically forms acicular prismatic crystals in radiating patterns. It is clear white with a silky lustre. Mesolite occurs as void fillings in other rocks, here associated with crystals of prehnite (green). This specimen, 15 centimetres across, is from the West Paterson mine in New Jersey, USA.
