Terracotta oil lamp late 1st–early 2nd century Roman This lamp, coated with a vitreous green glaze, features a central floral decoration and two extended griffin heads at either side. Its form and style of decoration are very close to those of lamps from Knidos, which feature an extension of their nozzle-volutes into a decorative animal head, normally a horse but occasionally a Terracotta oil lamp.
