Natural product chemistry research. Array of sample tubes and jars containing plant extracts. This research is being carried out at the Natural Product Chemistry Institute (ICSN, Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles). This is a CNRS research institute in Gif sur Yvette, near Paris, France. It carries out research into discovering and identifying new natural products from plants, marine organisms and micro-organisms, as well as synthesising those with pharmacological uses and investigating biological mechanisms of action.
