Fashionable teenage girls at Brandenburg Gate waiting to get into the Tucher disco at Pariser Platz. No releases available. --- Info: The Brandenburg gate was one of eigtheen city gates, built in 1788-1791 by Carl Gotthard Langhans, based on the propylaeum of the Acropolis (Athens) with 6 doric columns in both sides. In 1794 the gate was crowned with the Quadriga, designed by Johann Gottfried Schadow in cast bronze, showing the Goddess of Victory in her four horse chariot - quadriga. While Berlin was seperated in a western and eastern part, the gate was situated in no man´s land, just behind the Wall. After reunification in November 1989, the Gate was reopened on December 22, 1989; and totally renovated a few years later.
