Asfar back as the year 1719, accordingto historical records, it was known asCorbets old house, and it was herethat James Alexander took observa-tions for the establishment of thepoint where the 41st degree of longi-tude crosses the Hudson River,marking the boundary line betweenNew York and New Jersey.
