A Swiss sabre, 2nd half of the 17th century. Curved, double-edged blade with etched decoration. One face struck with a wolf mark, on each side of the ricasso a Toledo mark (probably Solinger copy) . Iron bar hilt with thumb ring. Inset brass double shell-guards decorated with a deer motif in relief. Grip with brass wire winding (ferrules replaced?) and a lion head pommel.
