A model 1742 Prussian hussar's sabre for enlisted men,Curved blade à la Montmorency(ca. 1790),one face marked "Potsdam",the other side bears an eagle mark. Iron knuckle-bow hilt(ca. 1750)with cross-piece and curved knuckle-guard,"S" markings on the quillons. The hilt newly leathered,grip strap with soldered top rivet. Iron parts spotty,cleaned and rusty in places. Length 106 cm. Included is a fragment of a(presumably Russian)original scabbard,partially repaired wooden core with pierced iron locket and chape.
