End of the World, at the Pic de Bugarach, Languedoc in southern France on 21 December 2012th. Hundreds of journalists and spectators, as well as esoteric and believers gather in Bugarach, while the police seal off the mountain, and limit the access to the resort. The Bugarach Mountain, next to the famous village of Rennes-le-Chateau, got a focal point of unwanted hype. The mayor of Bugarach, Jean-Pierre Delord, announced that his tiny village was becoming a refuge for “esoterics” who believed that the village played an important role in the 2012 scenario, maybe as a place of salvation, or where the apocalypse might be played out, where alien beings might intervene or even rescue those present.
