Habitat.—On the surface of granite boulders on the lower slopes of the mountains along the coast. Localities.—Co-types : Fish Hoek, , 23/8/30 ; Hout Bay, , 9/8/30 ; Camps Bay, , 10/8/30 ; Kloof Nek, , 31/8/30. This species is intermediate in many respects to the two other South African species of Machiloides. In the shape of the eyes it approaches spinipes, but the maxillary palpi in the male are more like those of malagassus, excepting the presence of the setae on the vol. xxx, part 2. 12.
