Abingdon, England - 4 May 2019 These atmospheric ruins are a highlight of Abbey Fields in Abingdon, England. Named after the medieval abbey that used to be here, this park area is sandwiched between the Thames River and Abbey Stream, one of its tributaries. So you'd think these ruins belong to the Abbey, right? Wrong! This is a Victorian Folly meant to evoke the vanished Abbey - the real site is a few hundred metres away. Note the magnificent redwood tree in the background.
