Stein Glacier and glacial lake Steinsee at Susten pass in the Swiss Alps, Innertkirchen, Canton of Bern, Switzerland
View from the Susten pass high mountain road to Stein Glacier and glacial lake Steinsee on July 30, 2019. Steinsee is situated on the south side of the Susten Pass in the Urner Alps in the east of the canton of Bern in Switzerland. The lake was formed in the 1950s due to the melting of the glacier tongue of Stein Glacier (German: Steingletscher), which can be seen on the left side. Just 15 years ago the glacier reached almost to the lake. Global warming and climate change concept.
