Workmen in an access platform installing tie ropes to support the new roof, Etihad Stadium South Stand, Manchester, England, UK
Image shows two of the lower tie ropes, which will support the new roof, being lifted into place. They are held by the large tubular beam which is being lifted into place by a crane. Once the tie ropes are fitted the beam is lowered, releasing the tie-ropes. The ropes are supported at the lower end (out of shot) by temporary clamps until all the tie ropes are in place then they are tensioned with hydraulic jacks. This image was taken after the tie ropes were in place and the carrier beam about to be lowered.
