The New Gauge Balance Engine on the New River at Ware, Hertfordshire


The New Gauge Balance Engine, situated between Hertford and Ware, feeds water from the RIver Lea (Lee) into the New River, which is used to feed the water supply for North London. It was built in 1856 by William Mylne and is still in use today.
