Lunchtime crowds joined a large contingent of 100 or so from the media as news was awaited regarding the sentence to be handed down at Southwark Crown Court to Rolf Harris, convicted of 12 counts of indecent assault against girls aged between 8 and 19. Harris, 84, was sentenced to five years and nine months. As his prison van left the court it was pursued by photographers. Minutes later, a woman identified only as a sister of one of Harris's victims addr4essed the media, thanking the Crown prosecution service and the police for their extensive efforts in brining Harris to justice.
