A magical scene of bluebells carpeting the woodland floor as soft early morning light filters through the ancient trees of Everdon Stubbs near Daventry in Northamptonshire. Everdon Stubbs gets its name from the traditional practice of coppicing and the site is documented as far back as the 10th century. The wood contains both common and sessile oak as well as lowland birch and also contains areas of sweet chestnut and sycamore; it is an SSSI and is managed by the Woodland Trust.
