GREGORY Was born in Franklin county, Pennsyl-vania, in 1810, united with the churchin 1828 and was ordained to the Chris-tian niinistr} in 1851. He resided nearMerriani church upon his farm for 14years when he moved to Walkerton,Ind., where he died in 1891 at the ad-vanced age of 81 j^ears. His talentwas larg-ely exhortation. He frequent-ly spoke in Conference of himself put-ting- chunks of fire-brands his chosen work bj some-thing known to people in that earU-day. When clearing the land of theforests, logs were piled together inheaps and burned. After burningawhile they would fall apart, when thefireman must with hand-spike bringthe chunks and fire-brands , like the fireman, he succeeded inbringing together those who were outof harmony with one another.
