The Bourne School, High Street, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, has three coats of arms above the doorway. They are the coats of arms of Berkhamsted, Thomas Bourne, and John Finch. Thomas Bourne bequeathed £8000 for the charity school for 20 boys and 10 girls. When it opened in 1737 it was the first school to be built in the town for nearly 200 years. It was extended in 1853 through a donation from General John Finch. Clementine Hozier. later Lady Churchill, was a pupil here.
