A thatchedroof, and thence, a peasants hut. Tulip-tree. The wood of this tree is smoothand fine-grained, very easily wrought, and notliable to split. It is largely used in carving andornamental work, and for panels in coachbuilding. Tulle. A plain silk lace, blonde or net. Tumblers. The drinking-glasses so calledtake their name from their original shape,rounded at the bottom, so that they tumbled overunless they were very carefully set down.
