Nomada bee (Nomada ruficornis) resting. Nomada bee in its resting position with its mandibles clamped on the end of a grass stem. These wasp-like bees are also known as cuckoo bees due to their cleptoparasitic behaviour, where they steal food caught by other bees. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in May.
