Old red Texan shingled house. Two-Bit Taylor Inn museum. Chestnut Square Historic Village, McKinney,Texas.

The Taylor House became known as "Two-Bit Taylor Inn" because travelers arriving by train to call on local merchants could stay all night for 25 cents. This simple, box-style house was built in 1863 and purchased in 1868 at a public auction by Armstead J. Taylor.
