The magma, with exception ofthe Tvchora^^s, was more liquid and conse-quently more flexible, so that the masseswere thrown in all directions, even upwards,in consequence of the gases escaping withthe rays, therefore could not possibly formdark rosettes as on the Tycho. The wild-ness of this stormy proceeding can easily berecognised by comparing it with the otherray-systems. The magma was stiffer andmore consistent at the later out-break ofthe Tycho, whereby the throwing distancewas enlarged, but in consequence of thecohesion vertical magma ruptures and there-fore the flooding of the outer-walls wereimpossil)le, thus causing the hollowing out ofthe uncovered dark T^^ho-rosette.
