Nicolai Maximov, Tatiana Maximova and John Briquet. From left to right are Russian plant physiologists Nicolai Alexandrovitch Maximov and Tatiana Krassnosselslie Maximova, with Swiss botanist John Isaac Briquet (1870-1931). Briquet was director of the Conservatoire Botanique at Geneva (1906 to 1931). He was also president of the Swiss Botanical Society. His works include co-authorship of the 7-volume 'Flore des Alpes Maritimes' (1892-1931, Flora of the Maritime Alps). The Maximovs specialised in plant physiology.
