In spraying for the orange thrips only those insects actually hit withthe spray will be killed. As this insect obtains its food by sucking theplant juices, stomach poisons are of no avail. In order to spray withgreatest efficiency it is necessary to use a gasoline power sprayer,maintaining a pressure of 180 to 200 pounds. (See fig. 2, showinga power outfit in operation.)
