Noble woman of Nuremberg holding two coats of arms, 16th century. The Scheurl crest has a lion rampant on red field and the Tucher crest a negro head on gold field under bendy black and argent. The same crests and Latin title appear in a woodcut by Albrecht Durer, circa 1512. Dr. Jakob Heinrich von Hefner-Alteneck (1811-1903) was a German museum curator, archaeologist, art historian, illustrator and etcher.
