When nearly full grown, and before they are fit for the table, they should be blanched by tying the leaves loosely together, or by covering with boards or flower-pots. GREEN CURLED. Thin out. so as to have the seedlings 5 or 6 inches apart, and water as plentifully as possible. The plant is usually eaten boiled.
