Vintage photo of boxer Jack Johnson (1878 – 1946) – Johnson, known as “The Galveston Giant”, was the first African American to become World Heavyweight Champion, holding the title from 1908 to 1915. Johnson is pictured in 1910 with Etta Duryea, who he married in 1911.
