Birling Gap, Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK. 2nd Oct, 2017. Work starts today to move the beach access steps back & provide a safer anchorage. Significant erosion has caused this work to be brought forward a number of years. Work is planned to be completed by end November before worst of the winter storms. Access to the Beach will not be possible during the essential work being carried out by Thorne Civil Engineers .
